I didn't ride at the individuals but i went to watch on sunday. I thought it was pretty bad of the mga not to run semi's this year, especially at the world's when many riders travelled from oversea's. Again as for the atmosphere in final, i don't think it helped that there was an extra hour break from the end of the vetran final before it started, thats when people to began to leave. |

Well done England & all the other teams at the Royal Welsh. The atmosphere was fantastic & we all had such a fabulous time. About the World Individuals...... There were so few spectators because during the heats all the other senior & veteran riders were in the warm up arena at the back & couldn't see anything. This probably wasn't as noticeable at the other championships because a couple of different age groups competed on the same day so they were able to watch the other group. Because none of the riders were able to watch any of the other heats there was no build up to the final. To be honest, apart from the eight that went through to the final you didn't really know how well other individuals had done. There were no "stars" coming through the semis and it's always wonderful to see a new face who could make it into the final. When run using the usual format it's always exciting to look through the book, choose the heats you are desperate to see & sit and watch, but using this format it just wasn't the same. I understand the reasons that the format was changed but, for me, I much preferred the original system & def missed seeing the semis. A lot of riders aim for the semis, knowing that the final is just too way off, and didn't get their just recognition for getting there. |

This below message is close to my heart, as mine and Sue’s best friends son Adam is fighting in Afghan at the moment, he is a Para and unfortunally the conditions are awful, and they long for parcels from home, so you single ladies out there if you would like to send letters let me know Im sure the lads out there would love it lol. You can send them free and parcels (sweets biscuits etc) can be send free too as long as not over 2kg (shoebox size)
Recently Marines in Iraq wrote to Starbucks because they wanted to Let them know how much they liked their coffees and to request that they Send some of it to the troops there. Starbucks replied, telling the Marines thank you for their support of their business, but that Starbucks does not support the war, nor anyone in it, and that they would not send the troops their brand of coffee. So as not to offend Starbucks, maybe we should not support them by buying any of their products! I feel we should get this out in the open. I know this war might not be very popular with some folks, but that doesn't mean we don't support the boys on the ground fighting street-to-street and house-to-house. If you feel the same as I do then pass this along, or you can discard it and no one will never know. Thanks very much for your support. I know you'll all be there again when I deploy once more. Sgt. Howard C. Wright 1st Force Recon Co 1st Plt PLT PLEASE DON'T DELETE THIS. .. ALLOW IT TO BE PASSED TO ALL IN MEMORY OF ALL THE TROOPS WHO HAVE DIED SO THAT WE MAY HAVE THE RIGHT TO CHOOSE TO SUPPORT THEM OR NOT!! Also, don't forget that when the Twin Trade Towers were hit the fire fighters and rescue workers went to Starbucks because it was close by for water for the survivors and workers and Starbucks charged them! ! ! JUST A NOTE TO THIS: STARBUCKS HAD STORES ON SEVERAL MILITARY BASES IN THE UNITED STATES. THEY ARE NOW BEING REMOVED BECAUSE OF THIS. There are also 227 stores across the UK and there's no doubt that our soldiers would get the same response from this company. |

WELL DONE ENGLAND! :-) What were the final results of the Royal Welsh?? I think the world individuals should be more publisised! When we used to compete abroad even for a small competition there would be posters everywhere in the town about the competition and the whole town would turn out for the final. Also like Katie mentioned the presentation would always be at the end of the competition, then everyone stays and itlooks quite impressive when everyone is in the ring together! Were the numbers of riders competing down on last year?? |

Monies are now due as hotel has to be paid. Could all England riders 2008 pls or their trainers comfirm tickets required for ball. Its was lovely last year to have all the england riders at ball. To receive appreciation from everyone. I am holding tickets, but need to release them if not required. Can people pass this message on to those riders that may not know about it please. Also rooms are now getting short and for those already booked and paid for can you confirn if you need smoking or non and I will try my best for you. |

| Again this is only a suggestion, please don't shoot me down for it, but could you not qualify for the top 8 places of the inter-counties A final at a separate competition and have the final on a different weekend over 2 days, running every single race in the rule book instead of just 10 games, at a place like the royal welsh for example? Loads of people watching and would be something for everyone to aspire to. To one day compete in-front of a massive crowd like that and be appreciated for the level of skill that some of them A final riders have. |

| I thought the Open final at worlds was fantastic to watch. It was a real shame that so few people stayed to watch but as has been said before I guess people with a long journey felt that to wait for the final was just not possible. This debate seems to come around after Worlds and Inter counties every year as to how to get people to stay and provide a good atmosphere for the finalists but at the end of the day there is very little that can be done to force people to stay when they have a long journey home. |

| I would like to say what an awesome final it was too, fantastic to watch and I think the one's that went home missed an opportunity to see games at it's best. All but one of the Veterans stayed to watch as we all sat together and cheered on the finalists. Many congratulations to Widu for winning, very well deserved in my opinion! |

The final was awesome! How sad that people dont stay to watch - even some of the Veterans -who had just finished -didnt stay. The idea of running the finals together is good but its the cost of the stables to stay on for another couple of days. Perhaps the Under 12 and 15's over 2 days then the Under 17's and Open the next 2 days. Even though there were no semis 'the cream came to the top' but I know some people werent happy with the format....I am sure suggestions on how to improve and attract riders to this competition will be looked at seriously. On a personal note I want to say thank you to people who worked so hard over the 4 days, Gemma Hopkins rarely left the box and multi-tasked all week, before and during the competiton, Ro and Rosie and Katie, Dan and Caroline..the starters - Danny, Richard, Keith, Michael and Peter who looked like drowned rats on occasions!! |

| When I went to germany one year for the individuals, I found that they had made a way to make everybody stay to watch the A final which happened to be the last final of the day. They did this by running all the finals on the last day for everyone and not just an A Final and after each final they did not get presented with their prizes until the A final had finished, then all finals got a big presentation at the end and from what I saw it worked and not one person went home. Im not saying we should just do this but there are ways to improve somehow and this is just a suggestion that could be developed or discussed. |

I was not at the Individuals on the Sunday due to having booked a a day off to attend a close friend's 60th birthday party. However, I was told that a lot of the Open & veteran riders just did not stay to watch the Open final. What a shame. I am told that it was a great final- in fact I was getting regular updates by mobile from Sue Williamson and spoke to Widu on the phone after his win. There was a great atmosphere for the finals for the Under 12's, Under 15's and Under 17's on the Friday afternoon. I think that the main difference was that riders from these groups stayed on to watch the finals and so there was a far bigger crowd and much more atmosphere. Unless people stay on to watch or do as you did, Mel, come to watch- there is not a lot that can be done. However, if anyone has any constructive suggestions as to how things can be improved then please let us know |
